LABMaiTE began as a visionary collaborative project between BioThera Roland Mertelsmann Foundation, the University of Freiburg and the University Hospital, Freiburg.
These institutions ensure our commitment to excellence and guide us to the real problems to solve while we evolve into an innovative, passionate and interdisciplinary team.
We unite AI, biology and engineering to redefine how we approach research, aiming to assist researchers and doctors by rewriting the script for cancer diagnosis to the point where it doesn’t change a patient’s life forever anymore.
Our Journey
Our mission is to assist researchers and doctors with the latest AI technology, enabling them to quickly test and iterate on ideas, by offering customized microscopy analysis, data insights, and smart experimental design.

LABMaiTE started in 2019 as a project of the BioThera Roland Mertelsmann Foundation at the University of Freiburg and the University Hospital, Freiburg.
These institutions have continued to be our partners and mentors in building the project.
The very basis of the project was an interdisciplinary approach to understanding cell characteristics and responses to access their intelligence.
This approach is truly reflected not only in our team but also our supervisory and scientific advisory boards.
